Scalabrinian Young Religious Meeting, August 2024
From August 12th to 16th, the Annual Scalabrinian Young Meeting was celebrated with great enthusiasm, bringing together Young Missionaries committed to the Scalabrinian charism and spirituality. This event not only provided an opportunity to strengthen the faith and sense of community among the participants but also to reflect on crucial themes such as migration and refuge, which are fundamental pillars of the Scalabrinian mission.
The meeting was structured to address important topics each day: On Tuesday, participants shared their life experiences, reaffirming their commitment to live the Scalabrinian charism in their daily lives; on Wednesday, they focused on becoming pastors in service, exploring what it means to serve others with humility, compassion, and dedication, particularly in the context of supporting migrants and refugees. This theme emphasized the importance of pastoral care as an active, hands-on ministry, where the needs of the most vulnerable are met with love and empathy. On Thursday, discussions continued around pastoral experiences, allowing participants to share insights and challenges they have faced in their ministries. In the afternoon, they met with their superiors to evaluate the meeting, reflecting on how the lessons learned could be applied to their ongoing mission work.
The meeting concluded with a profound sense of joy and fulfillment, as the Scalabrinian Missionaries embraced the joy that comes from serving others and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood within the Scalabrinian Family.
